How to Beat the Heat
Lately, the temperatures have been about three degrees less than actually being in hell. However, we can find some relief by adhering to a few heat illness tips. If you are engaged in physically demanding sports participation or job tasks outdoors during a heat wave or hot conditions indoors, you must drink plenty of fluids to replace the fluids that you are losing by sweating. If you’re sweating continuously, you may require 16 to 32 ounces of water every hour. Only use spor
Mind Over Muscle – Think Like a Man
Because of fame and fortune some athletes have lost their way. As a result, they are making local, national, and even international news headlines for battering wives, girlfriends or women in general. So, I pose this question. What are men gaining from hitting a woman? Are some men that desperate for personal retaliation? Is it that hard walking away from a woman mouthing off? Physically you already have the woman beat. Rakeem Cato Puts Marshall University’s Thundering Herd On the Map in Canada
Raheem Cato, a last minute decision, got the nod from Head Coach Tom Higgins to be his starting quarterback against the defending Grey Cup Champions, Calgary Stampeders. It was very humbling for me to receive such a prestigious award of this magnitude. The Black Legends Organization was created to honor athletes having played collegiate sports at Marshall University. The recipients o

Marshall University’s Traditional Fountain Ceremony: What the Marshall University Memorial Fountain
On November 12, 1972, a Memorial Fountain was installed outside the Marshall University Student Center. The Memorial Fountain reaffirms a purposeful life and mourns the tragic deaths of 37 football players, eight coaches, twenty-five boosters, and five flight crew members who lost their lives as a result of the ill-fated plane crash of November 14, 1970. As Mother Nature gives life to the flowers during the spring, the Memorial Fountain Ceremony springs life into the Marshall
