Father’s Day, a day set aside to honor the 100 percent Dads of the world. Me, I celebrate the honor of my Father every day. I recall a Father who was committed to raising his fourteen children and four grandchildren on less than $20.00 a week in Reynolds, Georgia. Although his salary was meager, my Father didn’t fail to put food on the table every day of our lives. It was not always the ideal meal, but we never felt the pain of hunger. Dad, a tireless worker had to work three jobs more often than not to ensure that our needs were met.
My Father, a strong black man rich in integrity, humility, love, and determination will live in my heart until death summons me to greet him. Dad, thanks for being the flame that fuels my fire. I will always think of you on two occasions – Day and Night.
Some superheroes are being recognized by the likes Superman, Batman, Luke Cage, Captain America, The Hulk, and others. However, none of their feats can stand up to the real contributions of my Father.
